History

ronnie1.jpgI'm proud to say that my hometown is Dallas, Texas.  I grew up in  the North Oak Cliff neighborhood filled with oak trees and close to downtown. Graduating Sunset High School at the pinnacle of the Rock and Roll era in 1964 was great!.  Moving on to Baylor University in Waco, Texas, I graduated in 1968 with a BS degree.  Then in 1972, I graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry (DDS) back in Dallas.

I decided to be a Dentist in the Eighth Grade during Career Clinic visits and have always enjoyed  meeting people and utilizing handcraft skills.  It has been a blessing to have had such a natural path for a career and I simply LOVE being a Dentist and helping people to better health.

The US Army needed me as a Dentist.  Because the Vietnam War was full blown and ongoing when I entered Dental School, I decided to serve in the military after I graduated.  I spent six years in active duty advancing in rank from Captain to Lt. Colonel and enjoyed serving in Virginia, Colorado, and South Korea. But, Texas called me home (I missedbb.jpg our chips and hot sauce).

Austin has been my home since 1978 when I bought the dental  office building at 7011 Hart Lane.  We’ve remodeled seven times over the years, trying to keep up with new technologies to better serve the good folks of Northwest Hills and surrounding Austin.  Happily married since 1982, we are blessed with three sons to keep us busy.

With changing philosophies in Orthodontic Services, people's faces looked better. Dentists extracted far fewer teeth but were able to improve not only their teeth arrangement and chewing function but also their facial forms.

In 1986 I returned to school through the Academy of GP Orthodontics in Dallas. In 1991, I passed the board certification examination and was Awarded Diplomate of the Academy of GP Orthodontics.

Then in New York City, 2001, I received the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry, an earned meritorious milestone award (Less than 18% of general dentist ever achieve this International Award).

Through out my dental career, I have always maintained my membership in the American Dental Association (ADA) and it’s state and local chapters.

Ongoing Volunteering Community Service has been a hallmark of my years in practice with the above listed organizations and the Downtown Austin Kiwanis International Club. With so many people in need even in our community, l have always felt compelled to serve others to improve their worth and well being.
