Cosmetics Not Just for Front Teeth
Natural-colored fillings are not only more attractive, but are also more durable.

If you have dark, unattractive fillings, a change to bonded porcelain or composite restorations can give you a more durable filling with a more attractive look. Recent research has documented that an Amalgam (a mixture of silver, mercury, and other metals that is used to fill cavities in teeth) can, after 15-20 years of use, expand due to their absorption of moisture. This expanding leads many teeth to fracture and cause pain.

Natural, tooth-colored fillings are becoming very popular because they blend almost perfectly with your natural teeth. Even dentists often cannot distinguish them from natural teeth! Their strength and durability usually exceed that of common dark metal fillings (Amalgams).

Relatively small areas are restored with a natural colored, composite material I just one office visit. Larger areas, and sometimes areas that previously contained dark metal fillings may require two office visits. These areas are restored with either a porcelain material or specially fabricated composite material (crown onlay).

Cosmetic dentistry is no longer confined to just the front teeth, but now includes all your teeth!
