Dr. Ronald B. Cass
History

I am proud to say that my hometown is Dallas, Texas.  I grew up in North Oak Cliff, which is a neighborhood filled with oak trees and close to downtown.  I graduated from Sunset High School in 1964.  Go Bisons!  I also graduated from Baylor University (BS) in Waco, Texas in 1968.  Then in 1972 I graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry (DDS) in Dallas, Texas.

I had decided to be a dentist in Eighth Grade during career clinic visits and have always enjoyed people and craft skills.  I feel blessed to have had such a natural path for a career and I simply love being a dentist and helping people out.

I served in US Army as a Dentist.  Because the Vietnam War was full blown when I entered Dental School, I decided to serve in the military after I graduated.  I spent six years in active duty.  I advance in rank from Captain to Lt. Colonel and enjoyed my military service years in South Virginia, Colorado, and South Korea. But, Texas called me home (I neededCertified Diplomat of the Academy of GP Orthodontics our chips and hot sauce).

I’ve been in Austin, Texas since 1978 at the same office at 7011 Hart Lane.  We’ve remodeled five times, serving the good people of Northwest Hills and surrounding Austin.  I am happily married since 1982 with three sons to keep us busy.

With changing philosophies in orthodontic services, people's faces looked better.  Dentists extracted far fewer teeth but were able to improve not only their teeth arrangement, but also their faces.  In 1987 I returned to school through the Academy of GP Orthodontics in Dallas.
In 1991, I passed the board certification examination and was Awarded Diplomate of the Academy of GP Orthodontics.

Then in New York City, 2001, I received the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry, an earned meritorious milestone award (Less than 18% of general dentist ever achieve this International Award).

Through out my dental career, I have always maintained my membership in the American Dental Association (ADA) and it’s state and local chapters.

Treatment Philosophy
As a General Family Dentist I feel I have a unique responsibility to my family of patients.

Checkups begin at three years of ageWe establish good preventative base health care.  Show kids a fun office experience they can enjoy and that they look forward to their returning check up visits.  And show adults a genuine, warm, and honestly caring environment that they trust returning to for check ups and treatment.

We provide proven, predictable, natural looking restorations, and American Dental Association (ADA) accepted therapies.  We work to alleviate dental pain as quickly as possible.

We take the time to educate our patients ("elevate their dental IQ"),  focusing on preventative care.

From the ChairWe work hard to provide as non-threatening an environment as possible to experience good dental care.  We routinely use Nitrous Oxide gas conscious sedation along with stereo headphones. Occasionally we may prescribe medications to alleviate anxieties of some patients.

We appropriately direct patients to doctors who have specialty training.  I recognize that I cannot provide all things to all people.  I feel it is my responsibility to refer patients to doctors who can provide the best care for that patients needs.  We work closely with many dental specialists in Austin.
